HE4 | Ovarian cancer marker (Protein secreted by the ovary appendix)

HE4 - human testis protein - this test is used as an adjunct in the monitoring of epithelial ovarian cancer patients for cancer recurrence or progression. It is recommended to combine this test with the CA 125 test when assessing the risk of epithelial ovarian cancer in premenopausal and postmenopausal women. Considering HE4 as a separate cancer marker, it has a high sensitivity in detecting ovarian cancer, especially in the early, asymptomatic stage I.
