IgM | Immunoglobulin M

Immunoglobulin M (IgM) is an immunoglobulin that makes up about 7% of the total amount of plasma immunoglobulins, this immunoglobulin is the first to react to an antigenic stimulus. The concentration of IgM decreases: rarely, the decrease is associated with repeated pyrogenic infections. IgM levels are increased in: primary biliary cirrhosis, haemoprotozoan infections such as malaria, viral or bacterial infections and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as malignant lymphoma.
