Insulin

Insulin is a hormone that lowers blood glucose levels. Insulin testing is used to diagnose and treat various disorders of carbohydrate metabolism, including diabetes mellitus and hypoglycemia. Determination of serum insulin levels is commonly performed in patients with symptoms of hypoglycemia and may be valuable in classifying different types of diabetes.
