Determination of Tick-borne Encephalitis Immunoglobulin M antibodies in the blood by immunoenzymatic method
The tick-borne encephalitis virus enters the human body during blood sucking by a tick. The most effective and the only specific preventive measure for protection is vaccinations. If after a tick bite you feel such symptoms as: fever (99%), fatigue (63%), general weakness (62%), bone, muscle and headache (54%), you should be checked for tick-borne encephalitis. In routine diagnostics, tick-borne encephalitis virus is detected by immunoenzymatic analysis for IgM and IgG class antibodies. The IgM class shows the acute form of inflammation, and the IgG class shows the chronic form of inflammation. From infection to the first signs of the disease, 2-28 days pass, on average 7-14. The first phase of the disease lasts 1-8 days.
